Educational Sponsorships

With purpose of spreading interactive education and training, TTNET continues to support education which is one of the essential elements of social development.

In parallel with its aim to popularize interactive education as Turkey's leading Internet provider, TTNET became the main sponsor of the 9th Higher Education Information Days and Education Fair held by Kaleiçi Rotary Club on 19-20-21 March 2009.

49 state and foundation universities attended to the fair held in Antalya, while approximately 50.000 students, guidance counselors and parents visited the fair. In the fair, in which TTNET products received an intense attention, detailed information was provided regarding all TTNET services, especially TTNET Vitamin.

TTNET became the main sponsor of the 6th Development Days held in Ankara Ministry of National Education Council Hall by PDA Education and Counselling on 7-8 March 2009.

"6th Development Days", which is one of Turkey's most widespread participation certified development organizations, is implemented in order to contribute to the development of families, institutions and the society by taking the development o f the individual as the basis.

People like the educator and writer Canten Kaya and Mehmet Auf shared their views on the issues like "Particulars of being an Effective Person" and "Particulars of Convincing Turks" with the spectators, while TTNET General Director Tahsin Yılmaz took place in the "Success Through Life" panel together with the Former National Footballer Hakan Şükür and artist Hasan Kaçan.

TTNET became the sponsor of the Development Days of its fifth year. The Development Days conference led by PDA Education and Counselling was held in Kayseri on 25-26 October 2008. The conferences, in which people like TV8 Ankara Coordinator Erkan Tan, journalist Coşkun Aral, educator and writer Mehmet Auf shared their views on the issues like "Success Through Life", "Techniques for Impressing People" and "Secrets for Happiness within Family", ended with the panel of TTNET on "Success in Business".

In order to meet its leadership responsibility of making Turkey an Internet society and with the aim of guiding the youth in this area, Turkey's leading Internet service provider TTNET became the Platinium Sponsor of the Ebiko International ITC Olympiad held between 15 December 2008 and 9 May 2009.

In order to train the future's young IT specialists, to make the students aware of the improving and rapidly developing technology, computer and Internet culture, Ebiko International ITC Olympiad, supported by the Ministry of National Education, was held in total 11 categories for 2 different age groups.

5 categories consisting of educator's web site, informatics' place in education, e-future, media of my dreams, learning with fun were specified for the primary school students, while total 6 categories consisting of educator's web site, informatics' place in education, informatics software, R&D in informatics, media of my dreams and learning with fun were specified for the secondary education students.

In the awards ceremony held on 11th May, following the announcement of the projects in final, TTNET WINNER AWARDS were presented to all winner students.

TTNET became the Golden Sponsor of the Dream Line 5th International Design Olympiad held between 15 December 2008 and 13 April 2009 by the Technology, Design and Art Association.

In the olympiad held for the primary school, secondary school and university students, the students were free to choose the product areas that they would work on. 3605 projects were submitted in the contest from all around the world. 110 projects chosen from the submissions were presented in Ankara Ankamall Shopping Centre for the jury and the public.

Consequent to the evaluation of the jury, 42 students received their awards in the ceremony held in the Ankara Anatolian Performance Centre.

Turkey's leading internet service provider TTNET became the main sponsor of the Kabataş Erkek Lisesi 100th Year Documentary prepared by the Kabataşlılar Association.

In the one-hour documentary explaining Kabataş Erkek Lisesi's historical change and its situation and attitude in Turkey's important historical events during a century, there is also information on the businessmen, poets and athletes graduated from Kabataş Highschool and left their mark on history.

TTNET launched a free e-mail project for the elementary education students and teachers upon signing a protocol with the Ministry of Public Education on May 15th, 2009.

E-mail project covering over 2.5 million students studying in the 4th and 5th grades of the elementary schools at the beginning of the school year 2008-2009 was extended in such a way to include the new 4th grades at the beginning of the education year 2009-2010.

With this project also covering the elementary school teachers, total e-mail addresses will reach 7 million and one of the most important e-mail distribution areas will have been established throughout the world. Each student is provided with e-mail addresses consisting of initials of their names and surnames and such addresses belong to them until they complete their primary educations under the project in which the students use Microsoft Outlook Web Access Solution while meeting with Internet.

The e-mail project, aiming to foster the relationship among the school, students and the parents, is planned to cover the entire elementary school students up to 8th grade in the next years.

TTNET organized a "TTNET Vitamin Contest" between May 20th ¢€" June 20th 2008 with regard to the elementary education students in order to enhance the interest on computer-aided education. Over 200.000 students consisting of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students of 2007-2008 education period, joined the contest held over www.ttnetvitaminyarismasi.com.

Each student joining the contest reached 8 activities in their own class levels in respect to the subjects selected from the lessons "Mathematics" and "Science and Technology" and competed in their desired activity. The activities comprising of "Learning Part" and "Contest Part" were prepared in compliance to the curriculum of the Ministry of Public Education and the knowledge obtained by the students at the relevant education levels in their schools.

The students logged in the section "Learning Part" as much as they like, and after they reviewed the subjects, "Contest Part" was activated and they completed the contest. Of the students completing "Contest Parts" until June 20th, 2008, TTNET special gifts were given to the first 6 students, the first 40 students, the first 400 students and the first 4000 students to be ranked in each category.
